I just read two very interesting, well written, “different” books, thanks to being in a couple of book clubs.
The Girl with the Louding Voice” by Abi Dare is about a Nigerian girl who is basically enslaved, but longs for an education. It is written in a made up dialect, and fun to read. Eg. Instead of saying “feet” she says “foots.” Very plucky heroine.
The other is “There There” by Tommy Orange, and about the lives of various urban Native Americans in Oakland. Most resist their cultural heritage.
Im very pleased to find this site. I need to to thank you for ones time for this particularly fantastic read!! I definitely really liked every part of it and I have you bookmarked to see new information on your site.
